6 large buttery croissants, torn into pieces

200 g cooked ham, diced

200 g shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)

4 large eggs

300 ml milk

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish with butter or cooking spray.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the torn croissant pieces, diced ham, and shredded cheese. Toss gently to mix.

      In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme until well combined.

        Pour the egg mixture over the croissant and ham mixture in the casserole dish. Gently press the croissant pieces down with a spatula to ensure they soak in the egg mixture.

          Let the casserole sit for about 10 minutes to allow the croissants to absorb the egg mixture while the oven continues to heat.

            Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.

              Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares.

                Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
